  1. 1. Introduction

    Update the highlighted text - GST (Goods and Services Tax), an indirect tax levied on goods and services consumed in India, has replaced many other indirect taxes such as service tax, turnover tax, VAT, and excise duty. GST introduced the concept of “One Nation One Tax” in the country and came into effect on 1st July, 2017. It is mandatory for all buyers, sellers, and service providers who are eligible under GST to comply through the GST portal created by the Government of India.

    • If you are a taxpayer who fell under the older tax regime
    • If you are a businesses selling on e-commerce platforms

    • PAN Card of the Proprietor
    • Address Proof of the Proprietor (e.g., Aadhaar, Passport, Driving License, etc.)
    • Passport-Size Photograph of the Proprietor
    • Copy of Electricity/Water Bill of the Business premises
    • Rent Agreement and NOC from the Owner (if the office is rented)

    • Photograph and Id Proof of all partners.
    • Address proof of partners (Passport, driving license, Voters identity card, Aadhar card etc.)
    • Bank Details (cancelled cheque or bank statement)
    • Latest electricity bill of the premises
    • Rent agreement and NOC from owner (if premises are rented)
    • Partnership Deed

    • Articles of Association, AOA

If you become liable for GST compliance, it’s advisable to begin the consultancy process promptly—ideally within 30 days—to avoid delays or compliance issues.     • Step 3: OTP Verification & TRN Generation – Assisting with secure verification procedures.
    • Step 4: Application Guidance – Helping complete and review GST forms (such as GST REG-01) accurately.
    • Step 5: Submission Review – Ensuring your application is ready for portal submission.
    • Step 6: Follow-Up & Status Tracking – Coordinating with the department until approval.

    Typical processing timelines are around 10–15 days, depending on the authorities’ review. Once approved, the department issues your GST Identification Number and certificate.

    • If a business fails to meet GST compliance requirements or underreports taxable amounts due to an error, authorities may impose a penalty of 10% of the tax amount or ₹10,000, whichever is higher.
    • In cases where non-compliance is found to be deliberate—such as intentionally avoiding GST obligations—the penalty may be equal to 100% of the tax amount due.
